Acupuncture is a subtle touch though it can feel intense. It’s a golden way to keep balanced, helpful when sudden pain or discomfort appears but also when a long-term issue requires targeted support. During a meridian acupuncture intake, we will go through questions to define the root of your problem. Then I will feel your arms and legs, belly, pulse, look at your complexion and from there come to a primary diagnostic.
That is when the physical treatment starts. You will see me handling the needle amongst other tools. Following the Toyohari method, I will check your pulse at almost every step of the way.
The subtle approach of this meridian therapy makes it applicable to very sensitive people and highly reactive ones like babies and toddlers.
One session is not a full treatment so expect to come back. Acupuncture is an holistic approach which also means the body and mind react to many aspects of life and those might need to be put into light during the process. What steps you take outside the practice is your part in the job.
What you might want to know:
- Needles are sterile and single-use; the non-inserted silver ones are personal. They are very thin, fine just like hair.
- Toyohari needling is painless. What you can feel is the Qi reaction* in your body, like a tingling sensation, warmth or release.
- Pulse is part of the ongoing Diagnostic
- Make sure you have eaten before coming.
- Wear loose fitting clothes so belly, neck, arms and legs are accessible.
- Benefits of acupuncture can be felt right away. Each treatment adding to the former one.
- Moxibustion, burning mugwort to energize acupuncture points, can be part of the treatment.
- acupuncture helps with List of symptoms

Lingshu 1: “The important thing in needling is that qi arrive, then there will be an effect – and the sign of the effect will be like the wind blowing away the clouds, as clear as the blue sky that appears”
