Acupuncture is a subtle touch though it can feel intense.  It’s especially helpful when sudden pain or discomfort appears, or when long-term issue require targeted support. During an acupuncture intake, we will go through questions to define the root of your problem.  Then I will feel your pulse, look at your tongue and from there come to a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostic.

That is when the physical treatment starts. Since I am quite sensitive, I aim to insert the needles in such a way you don t feel the insertiom. Once the needles are in place, you lay on the table for approximately 20 minutes. It can happen that I complete the treatment with tuina massage techniques, this depends on your issue and always on agreement. One session is no treatment so expect to come back. Acupuncture is an holistic approach which also means the body reacts to many aspects of life and those might need to be put into light during the process. What steps you take outside the practice is your part in the job.

What you might want to know:

• Needles are sterile and single use. They are very thin, fine just like hair.
• Insertion is mostly painless. What you can feel is the needle’s effect whenreaching the Qi like a tingling sensation, warmth or release. Most people get into in astate of relaxation.
• Tongue and Pulse are part of the Diagnostic
• Make sure you have eaten before coming. Avoid drinking coffee within the 2 hrsbefore your appointment
• Wear loose fitting clothes so arms and legs are accessible.
